Custom Orders

Well it was a busy week last week with custom orders for two lovely ladies. The first was a nappy wallet with fabric chosen by the customer.

I added a zipper to the wipes case pocket this time instead of inserting the case from an opening on the side. I’m thinking I might start making the wallets this way from now on only I will make a pocket behind the wipes case just for some extra added space. I’m even thinking I might start making coordinating change mats, what do you think?

The second order, the customer actually supplied the fabric. 1 set of Compact Strider Liners and a matching set of car seat liners. I just love the fabric that I had to use especially the tree fabric, so lovely to work with.

I also celebrated my 9th wedding anniversary over the weekend and hubby and I were lucky enough to have our room upgraded to the honeymoon suite for free and we had a great dinner at our favourite restaurant, Ashmore Steak and Seafood. I have been going to this restaurant since we discovered it back in 1999 and the meals have always been perfect, highly recommend this place.

Busy week!!!

Hello lovely Bits & Bobs 4 Bubs fans, how has your week been. Mine has been very busy with the new sliding door going on the garage and our new couch being replaced due to scratches on the original. I have my brother in laws 30th birthday happening this weekend and lots of tidying up to do before everyone arrives tomorrow.

But what have I been up to with BB4B well I am currently looking at new labels and the original ones I use are about to run out. I am waiting on lots of different hardware to arrive in the mailbox so I can finish making more nappy wallets and mobile phone wallets. And I have been working on the new pram liners with the first now available in the Etsy store.

And if you are a fan of the lovely Plushka Crafts page, you will be seeing my lovely logo in their advertising over the next couple of months which is very exciting for me as I have never bought advertising before.

A Gift

Miss J’s prep teacher finished for maternity leave on Friday with her 3rd baby, a girl that is due in June. So I wanted to make her a clutch nappy wallet with a couple of changes made to it and I wanted it to be really girl.

Well for something that should have only taken an hour I struggled with big time. My poor sewing machine is up for a much needed service I think. Not only did the bobbin play up and I had to re thread it twice, I also blew 2 light bulbs as well.

The front was suppose to be have white with pink rose and half beige organic cotton fabric with a strip of crochet lace down the middle. Because of the bobbin I had to unpick it a few times and when it was sewn all together it did not match up when folded.

So back to the old drawing board and I decided to just change the fabric. The one thing that did work for me was the zipper I inserted for the wipes container pocket. I think this is a great change and I will be doing this from now on with the rest of my wallets.

In the end I think it turned out lovely and very girlie.
